Willie 3rd Street

Willie 3rd Street

BandAlternativeHip Hop

Its a fusion of folk and hip hop I'd say. I have been known to call it polyethnic cajun slamgrass. When I write songs, originally they come out with a strong Americana Bluegrass feel but when my band and I run it through the sifter it pops off a bit different.

Biography

The music of Willie 3rd Street is comprised of many different influences that span the gamut of genres from Hip Hop to Bluegrass to Rock and back again. A fresh guitar riff, tight funk beat and rhythmic vocals carrying plays on words is the root of this music. Originally from a small town in western Kentucky, Carson Gream(Willie 3rd Street) has since migrated to Nashville, TN. Working to introduce the style he calls "Polyethnic Cajuin Slamgrass" to Music City. "In a way its cool to not have anyone that I am compared to. When someone asks what my music sounds like it is always a tough question to answer but shows what I am doing is truly original. The negative side to that is the people who are not progressive enough might not feel it."

White Boy Pickin Cotton

Written By: Willie 3rd Street

Its not a right its a priveledge Sir
So emerge with an erge to splerge
Cause Ya Can’t Live without a vice
According to tha odds, tha gods, tha men, tha mice
I’m a bundle of flesh bone and contradiction
N There is a Ryme, a Reason, a Time, A season
Drive it like you stole it there is no cage
Except my shame the impotent rage
Just a Doller a day dreamin bout hay
White boy pickin cotton... Oh

These Are my stomping grounds
I’m bout to go round and round
With a mystery shopper, hmm tha show stopper
I’ve thrown rocks at glass houses
And I’ve Aided and Abetted a prowess
So put your pride where your mouth is
And Invade a bottle for desert
write I’m with stupid accros ma shirt
Just a Doller a day dreamin bout hay
White boy pickin cotton... Oh
Just a Doller a day dreamin bout hay... ay... ay

And so from the other side they cast their nets
But Plenty is something I haven’t caught yet
Like a dumpster dive just to feel alive
Or a Voice throwing injury workin 9 to 5
Remove the chain cause I’m off it
This office is no more than a coffin
Bossman grins as he peaks his head in
Hindsight says I’m better off pedlin
Just a dollar a day, dreamin bout hay
White boy pickin cotton... Oh
Just a Doller a day dreamin bout hay... ay... ay

I’m Tiltin’ windmills as you can see
N Broadcastin’ it to ya live from Kentucky
Try not to be a long ass short cut
Opportunity happens then the door shuts
From arm pit to knuckle I keep on hopin
Pic N roll ya know tha tribe has spoken
I ran 10 foot in a 9 foot room and
My day is made I be home soon
Just a dollar a day, dreamin bout hay
White boy pickin cotton... Oh
Just a Doller a day dreamin bout hay... ay... ay
Just a Doller a day dreamin bout hay... ay... ay

The Party

Written By: Willie 3rd Street

If you’ve ever hunted bear you’ll surely know
Either you get a bear or the bear gets you thats the way it goes
The Preacherman quietly asked his Clone
Are you into Race Cars or Funeral Homes?
Get your own run day I don’t have a fun day
You’re shitin in my mouth and callin it a Sunday
I Gotta get myself out this choke hold
Gotta read between the lines and go just where I’m told

gotta keep the party goin on
AND I KEEP THIS PARTY GOIN STRONG
gotta keep the party goin on
ITS GOIN ON AND GOIN STRONG ITS GOIN ON ALRIGHT

Tricycle keg stands down at the soutn spot
98 degrees in the shade and I’m slangin pot
Proffesional taddle tale pullin down my drive
Marko Polo hide the bottle N’ the knife
Got 4 sex trophys with 3 last names
In a cardboard box with good ol whats her name
Gotta bath tub bubblin two blocks away
Leavin a trail of teeth from here to labor day

gotta keep the party goin on
AND I KEEP THIS PARTY GOIN STRONG
gotta keep the party goin on
ITS GOIN ON AND GOIN STRONG ITS GOIN ON ALRIGHT

If “If and Butts” were candy and nutts we’d be in the garden
Heres the composer of the decomposed my problems just startin
The bigger the party the longer the bathroom line
Harder than a coffin nail the family disease is all mine
Don’t show distaste for knowing the paper trail
Now you can get back to writing your letters from jail
I’ll walk a mile for a beer and not a foot for a favor
I have no plan and farmer tan and I’ll try and save ya

gotta keep the party goin on
AND I KEEP THIS PARTY GOIN STRONG
gotta keep the party goin on
ITS GOIN ON AND GOIN STRONG ITS GOIN ON ALRIGHT

Bars

Written By: Willie 3rd Street

There are two choices here from which to choose
Better make it a good one boy you got a lot to lose
Things have been going way to good for way to long
Thats usually when the shit thrown at the fan hits the wall
Night life presses on, may be awake til dawn
So long live your running partner, long live your dog
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice you know the rest
I need a new hope, an inner lucha so I can take the test

I’ve seen bars to keep me out
I’ve seen bars to keep me in
Seen bars with big O’ neon signs
Where I can find my friends
And its real to me, real to me, real real to me
Real to me, real to me, Real fuckin real

I let a girl make a statistic out of me and it hurts
The only thing the brain can’t figure out is how it works
On my fridge is a magnet and it just says sexy
I’d like to believe it but money and good luck wont let me
It flew over like a led ballon on april fools
No one will call me back now no exceptions to the rule
So thru the smoke I stair at the wall thinkin bout nothin at all
There a beer in the fridge and I can still crawl

I’ve seen bars to keep me out
I’ve seen bars to keep me in
Seen bars with big O’ neon signs
Where I can find my friends
And its real to me, real to me, real real to me
Real to me, real to me, Real fuckin real

For some reason I went back to the place I came from
To visit with faces I missed the kept asken me to come
When I showed up I remembered why I decided to leave
The small minds the small town personality thieves
Every kid looked like every kid that wants to look the same
Its the irony the stores sell there, half price off the lame
I ask why it is what is but the answer I can’t know
addin insult to injury and steppin on your toes

I’ve seen bars to keep me out
I’ve seen bars to keep me in
Seen bars with big O’ neon signs
Where I can find my friends
And its real to me, real to me, real real to me
Real to me, real to me, Real fuckin real

Toss N Turnity

Written By: Willie 3rd Street

If you ask’d how its goin I’d say I’m in a bad way
the good thing I found is leaving me today
your advice comes with a price either to build or to break
as I feel good new fading, caution is what I take
happyness is coming slow when and if it comes at all
And there is a lie between the lines you are trying to draw
There is a feeling somewhere out of sight and outa mind
that has no start, no finish, and no concept of time

Toss-N-Turnity We Die In Threes
beg for your mercy get down on your knees
Toss-N-Turnity We Die In Threes
beg for your mercy get down on your knees
get down on your knees

I know I’m better off when I am oblivious to it all
or when I’m 80 proof and bullet tall
its the end of the night not thinking clear
I swear one last cigarette, and one last beer
There is a letter in red on an ATM
that says In tha mirror he is I and I is Him
Its a million miles to third street now
and time for killing is a time for living somehow

Toss-N-Turnity We Die In Threes
beg for your mercy get down on your knees
Toss-N-Turnity We Die In Threes
beg for your mercy get down on your knees
get down on your knees

The glass in the road from the wreck I remember
Sparkled in the streetlight like a tear from a stripper
I can feel the tug at me and I will be taken
while defending the honor of a wayward mayden
when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging
thats what the angels say when they’re singing
guess I’ll settle in for this phase, the next mistake
there is no way to cure this, no pills I could take

Toss-N-Turnity We Die In Threes
beg for your mercy get down on your knees
Toss-N-Turnity We Die In Threes
beg for your mercy get down on your knees
get down on your knees
