"Bush Rally Uses Willie Mack's Song"

DO YOU RECOGNIZE THIS SONG!?!?

(Nashville, Tenn.) – If you’ve been following President Bush’s Campaign Trail, newcomer Willie Mack’s song “We All Can’t Be From Texas” may sound familiar to you. President George W. Bush walked out to the song during his last 30 campaign rallies.

Willie’s single off his debut album, Average Guy, was chosen for the rallies after it jumped 30 spots and landed at #30 on the Texas Music Chart during the first week it was released. Apparently, the Republican Party has good taste in music, because the single jumped 5 more spots this week, landing it at #22.

If the Texas Music Chart and President Bush are any indication, one would assume that the rest of the radio world agrees.

Bio

Willie Mack hails from Chico, Texas a little town of 850 people just two hours west of Dallas. He grew up on a ranch building fences and branding cattle. Willie says, "It was an amazing place to grow up! Life is slow and true and you learn all of the down to earth things growing up in the country that you just don't get the opportunity to experience in the city." After high school Willie moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University where he went to class by day and honed his songwriting craft and singing by night. "I was making terrible grades in school, but I was starting to write some really good songs! I made a lot of good friends too, and that by itself made the experience worth it! I flew through school in three and a half years because I wanted to get out and jump into music," says Willie.
A few years after Belmont, Willie signed with Famous Music where he had cuts by artists such as Colin Raye and Sons of the Dessert. Since then he has scored the title cut of the new Sara Evans album, "Restless." Willie has songs on the upcoming albums by George Canyon and Lila McCann.
Willie has a new album called Average Guy that was recorded by Nashville producer Keith Brown and former 6 Wire member Steve Mandile. All of the songs on the album are written or co-written by Willie. Willie's says, "Most of the artists I've loved or looked up to are the ones who wrote their own songs. It just opens an artist up more to the listener when they are sharing true stories from their lives about joy and pain. I can identify with that!" Average Guy will be out toward the end of August. The music is a blend of influences such as: Steve Earle, Dwight Yoakam, Merle Haggard, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Presley and the Beatles. The songs portray the real life of a real man facing the struggles of dreams, family, and reality.
