Willisbong is an original 4-piece urban metal band from Edmonton, AB, Canada. Founded in 2001, the band has focused its creative energy upon creating dark, brooding, and truly emotional lyrics layered over thunderous yet melodic riffs. Heavily influenced by major recording artists Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, and System of a Down, Willisbong has been hyped as a forerunner for Canada's heavy metal revival. The band has landed promotional TV spots as well as valuable airtime on 100.3 FM "The Bear." Willisbong's hard-hitting and manic live act coupled with solid, catchy melodies has placed them alongside other great, innovative Edmonton rock bands Fifth Season (now known as Interscope recording artist Social Code) and Vedanta. Willisbong has been headlining metal and rock shows across Alberta and has its sights set on becoming one of North America’s foremost metal acts.
