"Gender War Has Many Fronts for One Woman"

The title role is only one of four characters that Florida-based actor Suzanne Willett pops in and out of during this inspried one-woman show, hitting the feminist ethic from a few different but witty angles.

With her riding crop, accent, and sharp stern manner of a German commandant, the Feminazi is scary in a fun way. But be careful if you're of the male gender because she can "smell a (male chuvinist) pig a metre away" and she does patrol the audience for signs fo anyone who watches NASCAR or drinks Blue.

Better to hang with the Virgin Mary. Yes, that's the original Mary, hereby portrayed as a long-suffering Jewish mother who will tell you just how hard it was to explain her pregnancy to Joseph when she wasn't even "shtupped." And those three wise men who showed up after she gave birth had obviously never been to a baby shower.

Then here's Sarah, less famous but more self-obsessed; a very earnest psych grad turned sensitive singer-songwriter plying her minimalist fem-blues at open mic night. Finally, there's Fran, the femi-rapper, with her colourful quilted jacket, spinning protest rhymes about male abuse. She's got all themoves, seriously. Willett switches roles faster and faster, becoming a kaleidoscopic representation of what feminism has become in the post-feminist era (it is, isn't it?). Eventually it has to come to a climax and it does, though not one you're expecting.

Even men will find reason for nervous laughter. - Edmonton Journal

"The Feminazi"

Those who are uncomforatable with the terms "feminist" and "nazi" will, undoubtedly, be dissuaded from seeing this play, just by looking at the title. however, although and open mind--a very open mind, indeed--is needed to view the performance, you'll soon learn there's a lot more to feminism than screaming "pig!" at every male you come across. The Feminiazi is a hilarious one-woman show, in which the actress and comedian Szuanne Willett plays four different characters, one of those being Mother Mary herself. She goes on to show how feminism is, essentially, that concept as we konw it (she does a feminist reading of Snow White, which will make you laugh so hard that your stomach will hurt for hours afterward), but it's also the action of females having faith in themselves, as mothers or wives. The play is not preachy or imposing; instead, it invites you to view and criticize feminism in a light many of us--including feminist themselves--have never before seen. All in all, The Feminazi is definitely a show that will satisfy your craving for a good laugh. - SEE Magazine

Bio

After the Army and a EE degree, Suzanne decided her life needed some humor. So, after years in the comedy clubs, she took her feminist comedy to NYC and ran Off Broadway for four months.
