Bio

Born in New York City’s Spanish Harlem, William Gonzalez walked the same streets and shared the same dreams as the legendary Tito Puente and many others. Nicknamed Will Porter by those streets, Will shares his love of music for his native Puerto Rico, yet he posses passion for all genres of music ranging from heavy metal to classical, all of which influence his gritty, yet smooth musical style. His lyrics are deeply rooted by his life experiences, his joys and pains. His writing style is influenced by his love of poetry, yet his musical influences are KRS-1, Kool G. Rap, Wu-Tang Clan and Big Pun.
Despite his rough upbringing Will has managed to maintain a positive outlook on life and to stay free from the violence and enticement of the fast money of the streets. Will provides a positive influence to those around him, embracing differences and promoting love.

Will never forgets where he came from and those who helped him in his time of need. However, since 1993, Will has lost many people in his life who were close to him. Although these individuals who were a positive influence on his life passed away, Will manages to stay focused and vows to honor their memory with his success.

Will has performed at Johns Hopkins University, the 2001 Puerto Rican Day Parade Festival, 2006 Puerto Rican Day Parade, Arthur Kill Facility, and has made numerous appearances and performances on public access television in Manhattan and the Bronx and has had spots on various internet radio programs.
Will was also the winner of the 2008 Street’s Mos Hip-Hop Conference, Best Latino Act and appears in Street’s Mos Magazine March 2008.

At this point in Will’s career, he is anxious to return the hip-hop crown to its rightful owner, the beautiful City of New York.
