Willy J and the Storytellers are a powerfull alternative rock group based out of Albuquerque, NM. The band formed in 2008 when Willy J moved from the music scene of Tennesse to Albuquerque to pursue art. Shortly after ariving in Albuquerque, Willy teamed up with lead guitarist Alex Bencoe and his friend Calum Murray who drives the rythm on drums. Robson Guy brought his ecletic bass skills to the band shortly after the trio met. The group came up with 13 songs to put on their record. It was recorded at Eagle Rock Studios and live at Bad Bobs. The group is touring this Summer in support of their new album, "Chopping Trees". The band has played local venues such as the Launchpad, the El Rey theatre, One up Elevated lounge and Low Spirits to name a few. They also have played regionally at the historic Buffalo rose while touring in Colorado. Willy J and the Storytellers have recieved many acolades being featured in the Albuquerque based Alibi, the Local IQ, the Albuquerque Journal and have been receiving air play on 89.9 KUNM. The band also has a song that is featured in a movie, "Point of Fear". Come see them at a city near you!
