Wil Nelemans

BandPopSinger/Songwriter

A small band consisting of myself, leadsinger and guitar, a bass player and drums. My music is a mix of folk, country, and a tiny bit of jazz.

Biography

I started to play guitar when I was fourteen. I was taught guitar by a man called Tony lane who then joined the band 'The Silver Eagle Express' . He showed me the first rudiments. Later I joined the previously mentioned band myself. We did a small tour in the Netherlands together with Jimmy Lawton, who originally comes from Texas USA.
Only 4 years ago I joined a close harmony group and took again interest in writing songs. I searched a couple of musicians and together we produced our first CD, that came out in january this year. We play in small theaters in the Netherlands.
My music must have been influenced by people such as Bob Dylan, Don Maclean, Ralph Mctell and James Taylor.

Lyrics

Change of Mood

Written By: Wil nelemans

Change of Mood

When life gets too oppressive
And my mind is far from sane
I’m deep down, low in spirits
There’s nothing left to gain

I need to stir my body
Get rid of all my waste
Remakes it all worth living
More speed and far less haste
Let it flow down the drain

I’d better blow my own true trumpet
And play that old, eternal blues
Strangled in total isolation
My head feels halfway in the noose

But when I draw the curtains
The sun beams on my face
I feel the earth around me
Tremble in every single place
My thoughts are scattered in a haze

The sky invites me to come over
My legs, they lift me from the floor
They take me down into the garden
It makes my heart beat more and more

I scent the fragrance of the flowers
I sense the birds up in the sky
I search for explanation
Something is trying to tell me why
Why life on earth is worth a try

Love's Ecstasy

Written By: Wil Nelemans

Love’s Ecstasy

When I look into your almond eyes
The sparkle betrays a big surprise
Your long dark hair lines down your face
I’m starving for you to embrace

My body, held so close to yours
My mind, my spirit, and of course
A language I cannot reveal
Describes exactly how I feel

A long sweltering day, we doze off , in the hay
A cast of cobalt blue, over me, over you

You fathom my deep dark clear blue eyes
You wonder if I’m telling you big lies
My face speaks of sincerity
There is no need for scrutiny

I like your funny little girlish pout
Your skin’s like peach, no doubt about
The words you utter they sound like a hymn
This is not the world I am living in

Floating away, on this marvellous day
A strange sepia hue, over me, over you

Your presence seems to be enchanting me
The pond in front of me reflects a tree
Surrounded by a lovely flower bed
And all these images that fill my head

A long sweltering day, we doze off , in the hay
A cast of cobalt blue, over me, over you

Floating away, on this marvellous day
A strange sepia hue, over me, over you

Back to the Child I once was

Written By: Wil Nelemans

Back to the child I once was.

Dramatic fragments are recurrent
They all seem lined up just for you
Confronting, even if they weren’t
They don’t just come out of the blue

I am trying hard to feel emotion
Devoid of fear and feeling free
My bygone days, a picture in motion
I let it flow and let it be….

Refrain:

Take me back to the child in me that once was
So I won’t have to enact my show
Cause I loathe the grown-up, I’ve turned into
With a self-esteem, extremely low.

The bloody past I am fed up with
Buy me a shot against the pain
Complete denial is just a pure myth
Contributes to enhance the strain

Groping my way to self-assurance
While tackling ignorance and shame
Have to rely on my endurance
Constantly questioning the blame

Refrain:

Take me back to the child in me that once was
So I won’t have to enact my show
Cause I loathe the grown-up, I’ve turned into
With a self-esteem, extremely low.
