IN the windmills of Matthew Thomas Dillon's mind, he's sharing some intergalactic stage with such spaced-out Americans as Mercury Rev and Flaming Lips.
Strange to think that he's a 26-year-old English bloke from Newport Pagnell who started out making homemade four-track albums in his bedroom.
Windmill is effectively his stage name and the excellent but eccentric Puddle City Racing Lights is his first proper release.
His voice is a strange, high-pitched but alluring instrument and his piano-driven songs are filled with delicate beauty.
His album is an undiscovered treasure

Lovely tune, this. Kind of bonkers in a David Bowie sort of way. Kind of really chirpy in a Polyphonic Spree sort of way. Kind of summery in the sort of the way the UK isn’t right now, which is a smart move by Windmill.
