"It's a good sound. The guys are solid in their songwriting, tight in their playing and not afraid to experiment with alt-country riffs or island beats when the mood suits them. It's great road-trip music, or music to throw on while hanging out with friends. They're sure to ask you, “Who is this?”

Biography

What started with young boys and their guitars has turned into music in everyones ears. Though the members of the band have all dabbled in music for most of their lives, things started coming together in the summer of 2004 when Nick Mery recorded the first songs for a demo called Waco. After hearing the talent that Mery had as a solo artist, Jimmy Dasher 2003-04 San Antonio Acoustic Guitarist of the Year approached him with visions of the future. Over the next year various musicians trickled in and out of the line up offering the sweet sounds of the violin, hand percussion and bass. Despite the changes around them, the early duo remained faithful to their growing San Antonio fans and held strong to dreams of something bigger. An independent Austin label signed them in February of 2005 and they toured the East Coast promoting their demo 11th Street E.P. Shortly after leaving the label in 2005, Window found its completion with the full time additions of Paul Venzor on drums and Bryan Rice on electric bass. The touring began again in January of 2006, this time focusing on the place the band calls home, Texas.

Window breathes new life into folk music with the instrumental additions of the harmonica, mandolin, piano, vibes and lap steel. The group has performed with the talent of Blue October, Augustana, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Katherine McPhee, Sister Hazel, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Topaz, Roger Creager, and Randy Coleman, and their following continues to grow with every stage they grace. Window has been a welcome addition to the Texas music scene with performances in Austin, San Antonio, San Marcos, Dallas, Fort Worth, Abilene and College Station. Aside from playing the intimate venue setting, Window has been featured at a few large live-music festivals including the Pecan Street Festival, Texas Rock Festival ,Sedona Jam, Northgate Music Festival, SouthBySouth Austin Festival, and South By Southwest as well as visiting the campuses of Northwestern State University (Louisiana) Angelo State University, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Trinity University, University of Texas San Antonio, Texas A&M University, and Colorado State University. Window has paired enigmatic lyrics with an eclectic mixture of Reggae, Latin, Country, Blues and Rock to create an original and captivating sound that keeps everyone coming back for more. The bands sound has been compared to the musical style of Dave Matthews Band, Bob Dylan, Counting Crows and Ben Harper.

Window recently put the finishing touches on their second studio LP at Amplitude Stuios in Austin, Texas. The album is titled Jack & Coke and features music spanning the bands past year of touring. This Summer the band will embark on a 2 month national tour, visiting all 4 corners of the country.

Recently the band signed with 50 Watt Records

"How refreshing to find a young San Antonio band that ventures beyond rock to a gentler folk sound. And it's a good sound. The guys are solid in their songwriting, tight in their playing and not afraid to experiment with alt-country riffs or island beats when the mood suits them. This is great road-trip music, or music to throw on while hanging out with friends. They're sure to ask you, “Who is this?”
- Jessice Belasco, 210SA Magazine

"The band also doesn't play your typical college rock. Window is a folk band that uses acoustic instruments to blend rock, Latin, reggae, country and whatever else fits the mood into a whole that grooves, propelled by lyrics that can be heard. But don't get the idea these guys are just sitting around strumming. Dasher is a hot-handed guitarist in the Monte Montgomery vein and band members have musical and vocal chops galore."
- Jim Beal, San Antonio Express-News

"The band Window is the latest College band to hit the ground running. This band plays a diverse array of music including folk, rock, reggae, and some Latin sound. You name it, this band can play it...So come and relax to the sounds of Window. Meet the band, and have a musical experience you’ll never forget."
- Andrea Sanchez, Study Breaks Magazine

"The band of youthful fusionists incorporates blues, reggae, country and Latin rock into a predominantly folk mix. You can expect a show driven by acoustics and impressive three-part harmonies with the surprising sounds of the mandolin and harmonica thrown in for good measure -- not customary at a usual rock show, but a welcomed surprise.
