Wind & Sail

This past summer I spent most of my time without having a cell phone and a computer at my constant disposal. In my free time I would often think about where all I have been and how did I get there, and where am I going and how will I get there. I would even think about the conflict within of whether to go or not to go wherever I am going or not going. With scattered thoughts of the past, present, and uncertainty of the future- joined with time to myself, I wrote some songs with these very questions in mind. It felt liberating writing songs just to write with no expectations and with no regard to who might play each particular part . At the end of the summer I showed the songs to a good friend, Blake Holderread. To my delight, he was able to translate some parts i had in my mind, and he had some of his own ideas. We then decided that we would record the project and joined Nick Vineyard and Bryan Perry to do so. Nick played drums did some vocals and some other aux percussion and Bryan played some bass, bells, and jingle sticks. That and Blake playing guitar and steel, and myself singing and playing guitar, mandolin, nord, and an old crappy keyboard I found this summer, we finished the Ep.
