Wings of Valkyrie

Formed over the summer of 2010 in San Antonio, TX, these high school friends found out they had more in common than just girls and video games.
MiK!, the eldest of the bunch grew up heavily influenced by punk/rock music. From Green Day to Black Sabbath, he heard it all. He was taught to play guitar at the age of 12 by his uncle and practiced Randy Rhodes solos in his room until his fingers bled. He knew almost instantly that this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
Alex was born with drum sticks in hand, or so the rumor goes. His father was a local celebrity in his hey day, drumming for every and any band all at the same time. His talent was passed on to his son, genetically, and his patience never grew thin with the boy, and now it's paid off. Alex drums with every fiber in his being. When he's playing the drums your gut feels it before your ears hear it.
Chris isn't a bass player. His first love is the drums, he shares that quality with his best friend Alex, but you couldn't tell that by hearing him play. Chris is a musical savant and can play anything you put in front of him. It's been said that he learned to play a song on a guitar by ear just by hearing some one poorly "doot doot" the rhythm. Wings of Valkyrie didn't have a bass player until Chris decided to join the band, and for that, they will always be in debt to him.
Drew is the baby of the band, but his expertise on the guitar would lead you to believe otherwise. His fingers move effortlessly up and down the fretboard, making guitarists 20 years his senior salivate with envy. When he takes the stage, he transforms from a mild mannered son of San Antonio to an axe wielding hero of all things Rock.
Their influences are all over the map; Alkaline Trio, Jim Croce, The Doors, Avenged Sevenfold, The Beatles, Green Day, Falling in Reverse, The Who and that's just to name a few. It's because of this diverse mix of music that allows Wings of Valkyrie to soar.
They can play with any band on any stage because these boys have a finger in every pie. You looking for pop-punk? They can do it. You want a radio safe single? They got it. Looking for something with an edge? Something a little more on the screaming side? Look no further. Wings of Valkyrie are all that and then some. Their songs are a little dark and creepy, and sweet and familiar.
All 4 boys have experience being in front of an audience. Mik! and Drew are award winning thespians and Alex and Chris were members in an award winning drum line. Stage presence? Yeah, they got that too. They understand that to pump up a crowd, they first need to bring it. And they bring it all the time.
