"Winter Street at Blueprint Festival"

...By now, nobody really had any idea what was going on. The playing order kept on changing, half the mosh were screaming for The Galvatrons, and everybody was quite pissed and getting bloody cold in the literally 2 degree weather. So when unknowns Winter Street stepped up onto stage, the audience returned the band’s deer-in-the-headlights stare. Originally scheduled as the opening act at 3.15, it was now past 10, and they had a bigger audience than all their last year’s shows combined. Regardless, they churned out a set of edgy indie pop that kept the audience’s attention. They may have won a few new fans with their Broken Social Scene-like groove, but their crowning glory was not being booed offstage simply because they weren’t The Galvatrons. And that took effort. - fasterlouder.com.au

WINTER STREET, are a young and ambitious band residing in Melbourne, known for their catchy indie pop and great live show. Forming in May 2008 they wasted little time getting their act together. In July of said year, they teamed up with Bruce Haymes (Ex Paul Kelly) and Craig Pilkington (Killjoys) to record their debut EP. The EP was released in November in front of a sold out crowd at Miss Libertines, followed by a tour of Sydney. On return, Winter Street have continued to play shows around Melbourne receiving support from local radio stations PBS and SYN fm. Winter Street has just finished recording their follow up single at Pots and Pans Studios with Joe Hammond (Deloris)
