With Skies Below is a young 5 piece band from sydney hills area. Being a young band, we focus on creating a fun, up tempo atmosphere at all our shows, interacting whether it be small or large crowds.
Our music focuses on catchy riffs which contrast to the high vocal melodies which our female singer belts out which sets us apart to normal post hardcore bands as they are male dominated. Our aim is to mix the genres of harcore with pop/alternate rock to create our own unique sound.
Forming in late 2008 to take part in National Youth Week - Youth Rock competition, with skies below quickly came together as a small school based band. After performing covers in our school assemblies and productions, we decided to start taking our music further by writing our own songs. After spending Months writing, the first demos were created for Drop Your Burdens as well as 2 other songs which were later re recorded on our debut self titled EP. Coming from a city with so many bands, we have had to work very hard on our own to get to where we are, which is still not where we want to be. The sky is the limit for us as a band, and we are capable of pushing that limit.
