Bio

With That Knife formed after meeting at University in Salford, Greater Manchester, but due to their members hailing from throughout the country - from Oxford and Reading, up to Blackpool - they have none of the laddish bravado the city is known for producing in it's bands. Instead, With That Knife draw from a wide range of influences from punk and experimental indie rock to all kinds of electronic music and folk styles from the UK and around the world, always fueled by a passion for new sounds and ideas. Their music can switch between extremes, from chaotic noise to sparse post-rock passages, tied together by melodies from any one of the five vocalists and infectious dance rhythms.

After cementing their line-up in mid-2009 and playing extensively around their home city, With That Knife garnered a reputation for live shows that pack a punch, gaining them support slots with the likes of Trophy Wife, Delphic, BLK JKS, Kong, Napoleon IIIrd, Spokes, Mammal Club and Johnny Foreigner - as well as many others.

In 2010, With That Knife released their first digital single - a double A-side entitled "This Place, A Thousand Times/Excuse? Me!" to which received overwhelmingly positive response from blogs, fanzines and radio. In support of this release the band branched out, playing gigs across the country, from Soho to Barrow. With That Knife are currently preparing for another release later this year, with details to be announced.

With an imminent release, touring plans and an appearance at the Sounds From The Other City festival in Salford, With That Knife are definitely a band to keep an eye on as they go from strength to strength.
