Bio

"With this album (El album gris) Walter have become the most ingenious pen and voice of the new generation of puerto rican singersongwriters"
Jaime Torres, El NUEVO DIA

Walter Morciglio. His music career started as a guitarist in cover’s bands. Since his early teenage years, he developed an extraordinary interest in composing songs. He studied Literature and Philosophy at the University of Puerto Rico, and Music at the Interamerican University. It was in 1999, after years of sharing his original lyrics only with intimate friends, that he resolved to become a full-time singer, songwriter, and music producer.

His musical journey begins in 2001, when he left his hometown and moved to San Juan.

In San Juan, Morciglio founded a group of singer-songwriters called Taller Cé.

His interest in sound engineering made him start to record his own songs. After some time experimenting and studying, he finally set off to develop his own sound. His first attempt to capture this ideal sound is his second album HOLA. This album is a fusion of rock, electronic sounds, chill-out and acoustic guitars. It is also a very solid lyrical proposal.

His third album, MÍNIMAS CANCIONES CITADINAS, is a back-to-basics sound of acoustic guitars, yet it keeps some electronic fusion. This is a more relaxed, almost playful composition work.

Walter Morciglio has shared the stage with some important artists like: Roy Brown, Alejandro Filio, Fernando Delgadillo, Pedro Guerra and Enanitos Verdes, among others.

The MINIMAS CANCIONES TOUR 06-07 has visited United States and Mexico. The cities in which the concert was presented were San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Long Beach, New York, Chicago, Hartford, Orlando, Tucson, Houston, Mexicali and Tijuana.

His main influences are: The Beatles, Caetano Veloso, Silvio Rodríguez, Fito Páez, Pedro Guerra, Lenine, Jorge Drexler, Stanley Kubrick, Tom Tykwer, Mario Benedetti, Jorge Luis Borges and Pavlov’s dog.

Walter is currently living in Las Vegas.
