Bio
Wolfhaven's from NY. Four guys who love rock and roll. The music doesn't try to be pretentious. And the guys are true fans of loads of music as well as each other. Always listening and open to changing the songs spontaneously. Never afraid to take chances and see where things go. They jam. But there's structure. Their audiences can sense the fun and are welcomed to join in.
Wolfhaven's been around for about 2 years and have been gigging around NYC. Three of the guys, Jasen, Rick, and Nouri, are graphic artists and met at a 3D animation design studio they all worked for.
They met their drummer, Bill, at a venerable NYC dive bar called the Ding Dong Lounge. The Ding is kind of their home away from home. Actually its a home right near home as Bill lives up the block. But it's the scene of several of their best gigs.
The sound of the band centers on the guitar and drums. With the bass and vocals forming the anchor and the structure. One can picture early Who and Led Zeppelin. They don't hide this - but you'd be hard pressed to hear them and say these guys are trying to mimic their influences. Yet somehow those influences come through.
The sets can be short and tight or as stretched out as they want. Spontaneity's always a big ingredient and usually the set list takes this into account.
This ain't your mama's rock and roll. But you're mama'd dig it. Dig?
