"A Priori: Bands going beyond experience"

Desert rock with a fearless edge and a twist of blues. This small three piece, took me from a small Mexican restaurant to the Mexican deserts imagining myself tired and beaten, walking down an endless road toward the sun. - postposthardcore.com

Bio

The music Womb brings is very raw, full of swing and blues, but maintains an original punk-rock sound that can't be heard anywhere else. Womb has taken elements of 30/40s jazz and melted it into a garage-rock piece of art. Complicated riffs and syncopated rhythms set Womb apart from other bands along with a captivating dirty charisma you can't quite put your finger on.

The three members are handpicked select musicians who are keen to fulfilling their roles. Lead by Chris Woozy, Ray Cara and Joe Slegtenhorst are the solid back bone rhythm section to Womb that keeps the complex sound grounded and simple.

Womb officially began in early 2011 after Woozy had recorded the small EP, "Basement Filth" the summer before. The band began jamming the EP with other brand new material and a brand new sound. With a DIY mentality, Womb has developed a name for themselves in the Toronto rock scene playing everywhere from The Silver Dollar to The Rockpile, from The Horseshoe Tavern to Nathan Phillips Square.

Now Womb has hit the Toronto rock scene full force. While beginning to branch out to other cities, they have a new EP in the making. They are also beginning to develop a scene with bands like Mother Leads, Boone Helm, and various others. Womb is a band you want to have on your bill.
