Bio

oodenbox with a Fist Full of Fivers is a country/folk project consisting of Ali Downer on vocals, guitars, harmonica, and Nick Dudman on Drums, ukelele and vocals. Ali Downer self released his first album under the alias Woodenbox in July 2007, he later recruited ex cigarette bandmate Nick Dudman to perform a unique and interesting live take on the album tracks. Later down the line the duo recruited Fraser Mckirdy on bass and vox, this gives a lift to the set.
The guys satrted performing in November 2007 and since have supported Peggy Sue and the Piarets, Broken records and Son of Dave. The pair have gathered up airplay on radio 2 ( Steve Lamacq) ,BBc Scotland and radio 1 ( vic Galloway).
The live response has been brilliant and a following continues to grow. This is the first new material recorded by the boys, although they are heading back into the STOW studios in March to record more tracks.
