Bio
Woodfish is one of the best new rock and roll bands coming out of New Jersey. Their appeal is universal, their music is new, their sound is their own and their storys unique. Each member of Woodfish has passion for music that is strong, pure and dedicated to keeping rock music alive and well!
Woodfish is a U.S. based rock band formed by bassist Steve Kalorin and drummer Dominic Kalorin. After taking an 8 year hiatus from playing bass Steve Kalorin simply had a calling while sitting in a diner eating breakfast on vacation in San Diego, California. This calling was simple. Go home, talk to your brother, start a band, call it Woodfish and bring people together in the celebration of life through rock music. Without question the Red Bank based rock band Woodfish was born.
In early 2006 the band met producer Robert "Void" Carpio and recorded their first album entitled "Bamm Diddley". Shortly after recording the album New York City's Q104.3 Classic Rock Radio Station DJ, Ken Dashow described Woodfish as one of the New York areas best rock bands. This struck certain members of the band as if tuning fork had gone off in their souls. It fueled thier passion to make and keep great rock music alive. Woodfish then stepped up their game and began intoxicating, exhilarating and entertaining musical audiences while sharing the stage with acts such as Foghat, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Kerry Kearney, The Spin Doctors Chris Barron, Particle, Keller Williams and Oteil & the Peacemakers.
Who does Woodfish sound like?
A fan once described Woodfish's sound best with this statement, "Picture The Red Hot Chili Peppers beating the crap out of the Dave Matthews Band, while The Blues Traveler stood there and watched".
