Bio

In the spring of 2008, Woodwork (formerly known as Humble Bee, Shark Feet, and Duke Hambone's Wailing Jewels) got its start playing an assortment of rock covers and a couple of originals at open mics around Virginia Beach. After going through a couple of band changes, the lineup of Kyle, James, and Harrison was solidified in October of 2008. The band quickly devoted themselves to writing and learning more music, with hopes of getting their first real gig, which finally came in February of 2009, at the Green Oak Pub in Virginia Beach. After a couple more gigs there, Woodwork was given the honor of being the Friday night house band. With their quirky and eclectic setlists and their own catchy original music and signature funky grooves and improv, the band was able to set up more gigs, including H2O, Old Dominion University, Virginia Tech, the Fat Frogg, and Shaka's. In October 2009 two new members were added (Andrew Majkut and Travis Bossler) and the sound exploded. With influences ranging from the Grateful Dead and Phish, Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles to Green Day, Reel Big Fish, Elliott Smith and Spacehog, even going back to Del McCoury, Doc Watson and Johnny Cash, Woodwork is able to cover all of their bases and make sure any crowd they play to is able to dance and have a good time.
