BandCountrySinger/Songwriter

I love Country. I love Rock. My songs and style of songwriting seem to fit the ear of Baby Boomers and their kids who grew up listening to their parent's music. They love the melodies, harmonies and rock n roll beat they heard in those songs, which they now hear in today's Country/Country Rock songs

Biography

As a singer/songwriter, my writing influences range from Country to Rock and Roll. I like telling interesting stories and painting pictures with words. I love adding harmonies like those from John Lennon/Paul McCartney and The Beatles. Music should evoke emotion on the part of the listener. A song should make you move, make you cry or make you think.

As an artist, I play guitar (rhythm, lead, bass), keyboards and perform vocals. On my recordings, I play all of the instruments and perform all of the vocals. In our cover band, I play lead guitar and sing. I love to entertain!

I’ve been writing songs and recording them my whole life. But now, with the addition of my 32 track Digital Recording Studio, I have been able to take my songwriting to a whole new level as I am able to record, mix and master complete demo versions of my songs.

One of my goals, as an artist, is to professionally record and release the songs I have written. As a songwriter, I want to continue improving on my craft and write songs that catch your ear, make you tap your feet or tug at your heart.

Bad Little Betty She’s
Getting me in trouble again
Good Little Betty says
The girl’s my evil little twin
She said I think that I love you
And I’m sure I do
But Bad Little Betty makes me do the things I do

Chorus
Bad Little Betty, Bad Little Betty
Better get ready
For Bad Little Betty
She said No matter what I do
I haven’t got a clue
Cause Bad Little Betty makes me do the things I do

She’s flying off to Beantown
Leaving on a Friday night
Pickin up her ticket
And turning off her bedroom light
She said I used to love you
Cause I wanted to
But Bad Little Betty makes me do the things I do

Chorus
Bad Little Betty, Bad Little Betty
Better get ready
For Bad Little Betty
She said No matter what I do
I haven’t got a clue
Cause Bad Little Betty makes me do the things I do

Bridge
She's turning off the phone so it don’t roam
The last thing she needs is a call from home
She's losing that ring, for her weekend fling
She’s got an excuse for every little thing

Repeat Chorus

Repeat Chorus

Chorus Refrain
She said No matter what I do
I haven’t got a clue
Cause Bad Little Betty makes me do the things I do

He Doesn't Love Her

He Doesn¡¦t Love Her
by Woody Spencer

Verse
He doesn¡¦t love her why does she waste her time?
And he doesn¡¦t want her why can¡¦t she see the signs?
Simple as that, matter of fact
He doesn¡¦t love her now.

Verse
He¡¦s tied up doing his other things
Spending his time working on his other flings
She can take it in stride or let it ride
He doesn¡¦t love her now.

Bridge
Too busy to look right under his nose.
Too busy to see how the story unfolds
Too busy to feel the way she feels.
He doesn¡¦t love her now.

Verse
She¡¦s still chasing him when is she gonna learn?
The 2 of them they¡¦ll only crash and burn
Let it be take it from me
He doesn¡¦t love her now.

Bridge

Tag
Cause he¡¦s
Too busy Working (simple as that)
Too busy flirting (matter of fact)
Too busy chasing (simple as that)
Too busy drinking (matter of fact)
Too busy smoking (simple as that)
Repeat and fade

Summertime In The Country

Written By: Woody Spencer

Summertime In The Country
by Woody Spencer

Verse
Down a dusty road
To the worn out path
Thinking bout days
Cutting Nana’s grass
And Granddaddy’s campfires
Everyone was there
Dancing to the music
Life without a care

Chorus
We’d pick a little tune with a rockabilly beat
A catchy little tune make you tap your feet
We’d sing a silly song bout an old Cadillac
Simple little songs making life’s soundtrack
Summertime in the Country

Verse
Skiing on the big lake
Cooking on the grill
Had a new girlfriend
Man, what a thrill
Now my yellow Mustang’s
Driving thru the trees
Searching for the back road
To all my memories

Chorus

Solo

Bridge
And the radio’s blasting one of the songs
We used to play all night long

Chorus x2

Without You

Written By: Woody Spencer

Without You
by Woody Spencer

VERSE 1
Lying in this big bed sun peeking thru
My hotel window I’m thinking bout you
Yeah thinking bout you
Thought about calling but you’re not awake
Saturday mornings you like to sleep late
And I’m thinking bout you

LIFT
I’ll call you later to check on the boys
But all I really want is to hear your sweet voice

CHORUS
Without you – it’s like the day without the night
Without you – it’s like the black without the white
Without you – I buckle at the knees
Honey Darling Baby please
Don’t you ever let me be
Without you

VERSE 2
Later at the airport there’s people standing round
It’s like the circus has rolled into town
Still I’m thinking bout you
It’s a hot summer’s day in the TSA line
But another thousand miles and I’m gonna be fine
I’m thinking bout you

LIFT
I’ll be coming home baby I’ll be flying all night
To see your eyes sparkle in our bedroom light

CHORUS

BRIDGE
An empty man
with a lonely life
I need your love
And Baby that’s why

CHORUS x2

TAG
Lying in this big bed sun peaking thru
But that’s alright baby I’m here with you

Let's Go Dancing

Written By: Woody Spencer

Let’s Go Dancing
by Woody Spencer

Verse
She had a little cry last Friday night
Eye liner melting she was ready to fight
And I said baby everything will be alright
She didn’t think I loved her anymore
That loving her was just like doing chores
So I turned off the box and said let’s hit the floor I said

Chorus
Hey Girl (Man) let’s go dancing
Have some love and romancing
Just you and me
We’re going out
On the town
Dressing up
And getting down
Hey Girl (Man) let’s go dancing

Verse
I said Sometimes I get to feeling alone
When I hear you giggling on the phone
Cause that was us not too long ago
So I watch the game or cut the grass
Have another beer in an ice cold glass
And she said Honey let’s put that in the past, She said

Chorus

Bridge
Lights and music all night long
Locking lips to our favorite song
Like the spring brings new leaves
Let’s renew our love honey darling please
I said

Chorus x 2

Hope This Helps

Written By: Woody Spencer

Hope This Helps
by Woody Spencer

Verse
First time I saw you we danced until dawn
Morning brought our first kiss as they played your favorite song
Breakfast at the Denny’s and we talked about life
Our hopes and dreams I thought back then you could be my wife

Lift
You said all the right things
But that was yesterday
Your cheating heart has left mine cold
And I, I can’t stay

Chorus
I’m writing this email from a cheap hotel
Cause I didn’t want to see you cry
I left this morning before sunrise
It’s hard to say goodbye
We’re different people it’s a burned out love
There won’t be any wedding bells
I know it’s not much and it won’t be enough
But I hope this helps

Verse
Seems to me that we had reached the end of the road
Our love was like a tempest getting ready to explode
Cause every night with you was a fight uphill
Always 2 steps forward and three steps back we were standing still

Lift
You’ve said all the right things
But that was yesterday
I love you baby but you won’t change
And I, I can’t stay

Chorus
I’m writing this email from a cheap hotel
Cause I didn’t want to see you cry
I left this morning before sunrise
It’s hard to say goodbye
We’re different people it’s a burned out love
There won’t be any wedding bells
I know it’s not much and it won’t be enough

Who's That Girl

Written By: Woody Spencer

Who’s That Girl
by Woody Spencer

VERSE 1

She was hard to ignore when she glided to the floor
Last Friday Night at the Famous Door
The dancing never stopped she was over the top
My buddies were a drinking but I kept a thinking
Who’s that

CHORUS

Who’s that girl on the dance floor
Two stepping, line dancing, asking for more
She’s every man’s dream yeah the girl I’d like to meet
C’mon Bartender can you tell me please
Who’s that girl

VERSE 2

She was stepping up a storm to those Country tunes
If I was gonna make a move I had to make it soon
The band was a playing the house was a swayin
She was putting on a show and all my boys had to know
Who’s that

CHORUS

VERSE 3

Well I finally got my chance and we had a little dance
I thought those big brown eyes said romance
But I never got her name I’m the one to blame cause
It wasn’t very long til I looked and she was gone
And I said
