Biography

One Man Banding is a genre of music all on its own. I dip into country, folk, skiffle, jugband, rock and of course many of my own songs written from my own experiences of life - pigs, wallpaper tables, Reliant Robin's, "top 'n tailing" & fish. As well as festival work, I have worked for Stella McCartney on three occasions in UK & France (2008). I have done two Channel 4 TV programmes (3 Minute Wonder & Sunday NIght Project) , The Xtra Faxtor (ITV2) and Disney TV (Bunnytown) during 2007/8.

Upside Down In Bed

Written By: Paul Woodhead

On our wedding night I kissed your cheeks in continental style
First the left one, then the right I lingered for a while
Then I started kissing you, but your mouth was firmly closed
Then I ran my fingers through your hair & I twiddled with your nose
Then I tried to put my arms round you but you kicked me in the head
And that’s when I realized you were upside down in bed.

The moon was glinting on your skin and that’s when I first saw
That pretty dimple in your cheeks as you smiled at me once more
I thought that you were whisprin’ and I guessed your talk was dirty
I couldn’t make the words out ,I just thought you were flirty
I tried to fluff your pillow and to kiss your pretty head
And that’s when I realized you were upside down in bed.

You were upside down in bed , upside down in bed
You’ve always slept that way that way since the first day we were wed
Just take it as a compliment, you know I’ve never lied
I love your face so much, ‘cos it looks like your back side

I woke up our first morning and I turned to take you in
Your hair had gone all curly, there were stretch marks on your chin
I couldn’t help but notice that your breath was slightly sour
I tried to make you laugh but your expression remained dour
“Good morning dear” I whispered “Wake up you sleepy head”
And that’s when I realized you were upside down in bed. CHORUS

I bought myself a camera phone and thought that I would like
A picture of your sweet face asleep in the night
A photo for the album, a close up done in taste
I’d take it as you slept making sure it was your face
So I waited till you slept & I was sure that you were dreaming
Your face looked so serene in the moonlight it was gleaming
I catch your face all bathed in light your beauty knocks me dead
And that’s when I realized you were upside down in bed. CHORUS,INSTRUMENTAL,CHORUS

Reliant Robin Man

Written By: Paul Woodhead

I’m a famous man about this town
Everybody knows me for miles around
I got one wheel in the back and three on the road
I’m Reliant, I’m Robin, I’m a sight to behold.

I got it painted yellow with go fast stripes
Chromium covers on the two front lights
A windscreen wiper at the front and back
To change a tyre just lift don’t jack.

A plastic bonnet & plastic doors a plastic dash and a plastic floor
Plastic gearstick, plastic wheel, my old Reliant’s got a plastic feel.

She was built when England was at its best
We won at football, we won the Test
We ruled the waves & we ruled the sky
A new Reliant was the one to buy.

It goes so fast just a yellow flash
You shovel it up if you have a crash
Take it down the tip so fantastic
Throw it in the skip, recycled plastic

So if you see me pushin’ it down your way
Lend a hand don’t turn away
It could be fun & it’s as light as a feather
‘Cos its made of plastic, no metal or leather.
