Bio
Dressed in drag, suits (urban camouflage) or regular gear, WorkmanJones see the city as a rich source of creative potential, a space in which art and the business of life converge. Since 2005 their physical graffiti has offered moments of respite, looseness and laughter, as well as indirectly questioning expectations and assumptions about so-called "normal" behavior in public space. WorkmanJones make action art, they use their bodies, their gestures - both familiar and unfamiliar, banal and extraordinary – so that people may not merely see the gesture itself, but rather their environment, their social context, a glimpse of the context that constitutes their everyday lives. In the midst of the extraordinary you may discover something about the ordinary, something about constraint, about possibility.
