Bio

Born of a bunch of bored Ben Folds fans, Wotef is in its third year of life and loving it. Currently consisting of four members of the original line-up (vocalist Mike Natale, guitarist Chris Lamond, drummer Tom Douglas, and keyboardist Chris Carlucci) and bassist James Kleisler (also of A Call For Conquest), Wotef continues to produce original music and perform at various locales across Long Island.

During a high school music theory class, Chris Carlucci invited Mike Natale to join him and drummer Tom Douglas to play some music. Mike enlisted the musical talent of Nathan Zwikelmaier, the band’s original bassist, who stayed with the band until the fall of 2008, when he left to join the Armed Forces. Chris Lamond joined the band a short time after Mike and Nathan, and the band quickly took to writing material. Their interests and musical backgrounds ranged from 80’s metal to 70’s blues-rock to 60’s folk, with a plethora in influences in between. The band played together at small clubs throughout Long Island for two years, winning second place at the Molloy College Battle of the Bands in their first year and placing in the Club Loaded Unsigned Band Festival in their second, and selling basement-recorded demos to pay off pay-to-play debts until a hiatus in the autumn of 2008, from which they returned with their former sound engineer James Kleisler as their new bassist. With James they placed in yet another Club Loaded Battle of the Bands, as well as several other shows in venues, including a Relay For Life Charity event.
