"Easier to Breathe - CD Review"

"Jon Langford (vocals), and his identical twin brother Mat (drums), have been singing for a long fucking time, giving the band quite some experience, and a possible edge. The complexity of Matt Dominici’s (guitar) riffs, added to Lenny Daniel’s (bass) superb bass lines, make this band a force to be reckoned with."

"Easier to Breathe - CD Review"

Wrekked have been making waves in the Toronto music scene since 1998. An interesting tidbit are two of the founding members are identical twins, singer Jon Langford and drummer Mat Langford. The band is rounded out by Lenny Daniel on bass and guitarist Matt Dominici.

The best way to describe Wrekked are melodic rock with catchy tunes. While not what I would call alternative they would probably fit in very well with bands like Matchbox 20 and Goo Goo Dolls.

Musically Wrekked are very talented and bring out a lot of emotion in their songs. There were some points where I felt the songs could have used a bit more energy, but that could have just been me. Their bio states that they have a very energetic live show, so that could be worth checking out if they ever come to the area.

Jon Langford's vocals are a very strong point for the band and if properly utilized in the studio (never underestimate the importance of a producer) could really branch Wrekked out from the Toronto scene. Their music and more info can be found on their website, www.wrekkedonline.com.

Bio

Since 1998 Wrekked has been steadily gaining both fans and a reputation as
one of the tightest and infectious bands in Toronto, Canada. The energetic 4-piece, who
has been showcased at most of the major live indie venues in Toronto, including the
Opera House, El Mocambo, Mel Lastman Square and Club 279, is bringing to rock a style
and personality that is all their own.

Identical Twins Jon (vocals) and Mat Langford (drums) have been singing since the
age of 5, with influences ranging from country music and classical, to hard rock.
Born performers, their intensity and camaraderie fuels the bands' performance from both
the front and back of the stage. Matt Dominici (guitar), whose influences shine in his
creative melodies, adds a sound that's all his own, as well as a confidence that comes through
both in his playing and presence. Along with bassist Lenny Daniel, whose complex basslines and
bigger than life stage presence, the two make up one of the most solid guitar/bass combinations around.

More than just a blip on Toronto's Musical Radar, the band has become increasingly popular online,
averaging thousands of hits per month on their website www.wrekkedonline.com, from users as far away as Australia and Germany. Prior to even releasing an album, they have been downloaded thousands of times on myspace and recieved airtime on mainstream Canadian radio.

Mixed by Rob Sanzo (Treble Charger, Sum41) and mastered by Noah Mintz (Death From Above 1979), Wrekked's newly completed debut album entitled "Easier to Breathe" is sure to add to an already lively buzz surrounding the group. As the band continues to grow their fan base, you can expect to see them playing more and more shows in and around Toronto and beyond.
