Representing Fayetteville NC but living in Cali the past six years has changed Bigfloyd tha Countryboy aka tha SouthEast Beast into who you hear today. BigFloyd is for the Country street/pimp side and Mr.Johnson is for the Smooth dapper playa side.
Born Floyd Johnson Jr. on December 26,1981 in Goldsboro NC to Sabrina Sanford(Kelly)and Floyd Johnson Sr. Shortly after his birth his parents seperated.BigFloyds father chose to take responsibility of his son and raise him on his on. Growing up in a single parent home as alot of kids do and alot of kids know living with one parent times can be very hard! Thats why BigFloyd says"I'm not hard in a gangster or thug way but hard from life cause thats how I grew up and anybody that has grown up with their father knows partly what I'm talking bout .With his father having a love for rapping and dancing it soon passed on to him. By age eight then calling himself 2smooth. Bigfloyd start writing raps on anything he could write on. But rapping wasn't his first love. His real passion was playing football hoping to one day play in the NFL he starting playing football in the 5th grade. With his size and speed he ran the rock like he spits his flows a Beast! But by the 11th grade his love for the sport vanished as his love for music grew. By now his writing skills and style were ready for any challenge. Entering talent shows and spiting in cyphas around school people knew they would here him on the radio one day. Moving to California in 2004 looking to see what the westcoast had to offer Bigfloyd was signed to an independent label within 2months of being in California. Spending two years on the label Bigfloyd gained experience recording with various bay area and mid west artist. Though recording two albums worth of material and doing shows from California to North Carolina the two parties parted ways due to lack of advancement. After leaving the label other offers were made to Bigfloyd to sign with other inde labels but the type of music they wanted him to do just didn’t match his style and character. In 2007 bigfloyd released his mixtape Tha SouthEast beast by this time rap started to go in a direction that just wasn’t appealing to him anymore. For the next 3yrs Bigfloyd focused more on his family and working a 9 to 5. In the Beginning of 2010 Bigfloyd started to receive emails and phone calls from people he didn’t know asking why hasn’t he dropped an album or a new mixtape. That brought the spark back so the summer of 2010 V.I.P(very important product) was put into play. Set to release Feb.2011 you can expect to hear a range of versatility from Smooth lady pleasers like Do it and Panties to club bangers Issey Miyake and Bout Her Biz. You will also hear him step outside his box with the Popish sounding track Rock the Night Away. What sets Bigfloyd apart from a lot of rappers today is just that the word rapper Bigfloyd considers himself an Artist like Eminem, Jay Z, 50cent, and Lil Wayne. Meaning he is willing to step outside the box to bring you in with music for the masses
