When We Dead Awaken

When We Dead Awaken started out as a little cover band lead by a few friends: Justin (lead guitar), Ryne (lead vocals) and Colin (drums/supporting vocals). We used to dream of being able to play stuff like Welcome Home; it seemed impossible. Fast forward a couple of years, two rhythm guitarists, and a lot of growth/experience, and we can play just about anything. But that doesn't do us much good when the only thing you hear in middle of nowhere Louisiana is rap or country. So, here we are. Trying to make a name for ourselves with our music, it's all we know and what we love.

Our influences come from all over. While Justin brings in the harmonies and solos from bands like A7x and Bullet For My Valentine, Pat brings the shredding style of Job For A Cowboy and Lamb of God. Colin brings in the complex/beautiful styles of Tool and A Perfect Circle while still throwin down like Joey Jordison (one of his personal idols along with the Rev and Yoshiki). Rynes (as well as all of the singing) style is a mixture of pretty much everything. Growls, screams, harmonies, all that jazz...but metal. We could sit here and list all of the bands that inspire us, but there's just way too many: mushroom head, oz, adtr, apc, all that remains, as i lay dying, slipknot, upon a burning body, a7x, atreyu, deftones, devil wears prada, killswitch, marylin manson, nine inch nails, rise against, afi, chevelle, gackt, girugamesh, maximum the hormone......that's just a couple of em...
