When We Was Young has been playing their brand of rustic bar rock with a touch of twang in the Toronto music scene since 2009. The four piece which features Chris Pacella (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Ben Elling (bass guitar), David Rudoler (lead guitar), and Nathan Wynes (drums) has played such storied local venues as The Horseshoe Tavern, Junction City Music Hall, Cameron House, Lee’s Palace, The El Mocambo, Silver Dollar, and many more. The band seeks out and supports personally meaningful causes including The Daily Bread Food Bank, Oxfam, and United Way. Influences include the Refreshments, Weakerthans, Lowest of the Low, Cuff the Duke, and NQ Arbuckle.
