"Industry Review of"

Industry Review of Sick-a-you
Industry R&B Review

Music:
This track is bumpin', .... for what you have going here, this is smackin'.

Lyrics:
An a-typical type of "slam you" song with very choice words. Great job of rhythmically phrasing out the lyrics so they compliment and add counter rhythms to the arrangement. Certainly a shared sentiment among many other writers.

Arrangement &
Production:
...I appreciate the clean, tight space you've provided for us by keeping it sparce. Phatt bass, drums, and synth parts that tastefully compliment.

Lead Vocal:
...... your vocal quality. I dig it, very deliberate and vibey, your voice has a unique timbre and vibrato, as well as good pitch and tone. Good job.

Musicianship:
All instrumental parts are well written, performed, and executed targeting the specific genre standards. That's a good thing. If your plan is to shop this song in the R&B market, you're playing all the right notes in all the right places. Great job.

Originality:
Well, seeing that your ultimate intention is to place this track on specific artist's CD's, it makes sense that you tailor it accordingly, and you have. Obviously, these are your words, yet they ring all too familiar in the scorned lover archives of publishing catalogs.

Bio

Daughter of a minister, Rebekah grew up in the church in Detroit. In the choir from a young age------(cue the record scratch) ....alright....yet another 3rd person bio???
I'm gonna go against the grain. Here's the deal...I wrote my first song at 6 years old. Songwriting came natural to me.
It's my calling. I've won or been a finalist in several Songwriting Contests, and have recently gotten airplay for my Jazzy/R&B joint, "Heart of Mine"
Influenced by Motown artists like The Supremes (I even still have a 45 record) 80's pop like Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam and 90's Hip Hop and R&B, like EnVogue, The Fugees, Lauryn Hill. I've been compared to Aaliyah, Lisa Lisa, Teen Marie, and En Vogue.
I've worked with several Metro Detroit musicians and producers, including Mike P, Tommy "Metro" Martin, Yaminah Brock (Painted Pictures) and Pirahnahead (P Funk All Stars, Morris Day and Time, Prince).
Bottom line is, there is nothing else I want to do in this world other than be a songwriter. There's nothing else that I'm better at doing than songwriting.
