Bio

Formed in 2013, Xaphyre is a female-fronted quartet comprised of Denver's top metal musicians.

The band has been hailed as being "in a genre all its own," "a line-up on the path to detonate," and "Denver's best heavy metal band by far."

Tony "The Beast":
Tony started playing drums when he was 4 years old and got his first kit at 7. Originally, he grew up with Latin music and later branched into metal. His main influences are John Bohamn, Mike Portnoy and Alex Halen. Nearly signed by Metal Blade earlier in his career, Tony has played everywhere from Texas to LA and opened up for bands like Garcia Brothers, Albert Zomora, Jay Petez and The Hometown Boys.

Fernando (aka, "Black Eagle"):
Fernando has been playing guitar for "a long time," with influences like April Wine, Van Halen, George Lynch, Accept, Testament, Exodus and Pantera. Having paid his dues through cover bands and building new bands in Denver, Fernando has played a wide variety of venues all over Colorado and believes he's finally found "the best of the best" in Xaphyre.

Bino:
Bino first auditioned with the band early in 2013 and new immediately that "we had something special." Before joining, Bino had performed in various rock bands coast to coast, his main influences being in the underground rock scene due to his disdain for mainstream and cover tunes.

Red:
Red never sang a note in her life until she heard Evanescence's first big hit, "Bring Me To Life," played on the radio, after which she immediately became hooked on metal and began teaching herself to sing by singing along with artists like Steve Perry, Cristina Scabia, Stevie Nicks and Amy Lee, just to name a few. She has since worked as a freelance recording artist in numerous states and genres, and has worked with numerous metal bands and songwriter/producers, including Perfect Disorder's Xi Chen, Shawn Simmons, Eamon Waters and Tom Brody.

Influences include Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Pantera, Five Finger Death Punch, Lacuna Coil, Slipknot, Deftones, Disturbed, Journey, Halestorm, Volbeat, Drowning Pool, Nine Inch Nails, Godsmack, Papa Roach, KoRn, Iron Maiden, April Wine, Van Halen, George Lynch, Accept, Testament, Exodus and Dream Theater.

The band is currently working on their first full-length album, which they plan to record and make available in December 2013. Once the album is released, they will begin playing live shows in Denver again.
