"Erhu Solo by Xiao Dong Wei"-classical Chinese played with the Central National Orchestra of China. Released on China Shenzen in 2004. Has received airplay in Europe and sporadically in the USA.

Xiao Dong Wei-Child prodigy who began studying the erhu (a 2-stringed Chinese violin) at the age of 5, with her father. Graduated from the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. Released a critically acclaimed cd in 2004, on China Shenzen label, called 'Erhu Solo by Xiao Dong Wei'. Moved to the USA in 2005 and began playing solo shows and also formed 'Alt-Chamber Music' trio called "Wei", in Detroit, Mich. Songwriter.
Paul Henry Ossy-mandolin, woodwinds, percussion.
Began playing mandolin with Xiao Dong in "Wei". Heavily jazz and prog-rock influenced, Paul has recorded with Catalyst and plays mandolin on the 2nd White Stripes' cd, 'De Stijl'. Songwriter.
Leo Gillis-bass,vocals,percussion. Also produced the soon-to-be released 1st cd by XD WEI called "String Theory". Played in many musical projects in Detroit and also writes songs for the band.
Djeto Juncaj-guitars, banjo, Europeon folk instruments. Former member of the 'Immigrant Suns', Djeto obtains unheard of sounds from his various guitars and gadgets. Also plays a mean flamenco guitar.
The band 'XD WEI', have been together since May 2006 (Paul and XD since May 2005) and have just finished recording their 1st cd, "String Theory". It should be available by Feb. 2007. Xiao Dong is classically trained, Paul has a jazz background, Leo comes from another direction altogether, while Djeto can stick to his folk roots or let loose with a virtuoso solo.
The band plays 90% originals with a couple of traditional Chinese folk songs that take on new life with this lineups interpretations. The couple of covers they do play include Jerusalem Ridge by Bill Monroe to the Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin.
