Bio
Xonestray (zahn-a-stray) hailing from Birmingham, Alabama is the epitome of
infectious grooves. Each member brings their own spin on the modern rock scene,
ranging from full spectrum guitars to "bob your head" drum beats. Their powerful mix
of harmonized leads and stand alone music guides thier audience into hooky grooves.
The name Xonestray means nothing yet everything. Merkel, Spanick, Stone,
Stickland, and Weatherford have found that Xonestray is the "end all, be all" of thier
musical lives. Vocalist Drew Merkel brings in melodic verses while the groups'
guitarists, Jody Strickland and Aaron Weatherford, along with bassist Darryell Stone
add their "throw your body into your neighbor" chords. Take all this and add it to
drummer Joel Spanick's heart thumping rhythms and you've got yourself one hell of a
show.
Xonestray has the "umm" factor when it comes to moody "stick to your brain"
hooks. Their wall of sound comes across as a cocky, yet secure, professionalism, with
movements and elements ranging from old school metal to rhythmic rock. Their flow
and drive will leave audiences thinking...
