Bio

Formed in August 2009 in Poplarville, MS, Xplizit began as drummer, Joshua Reynolds, keyboardists James Evans II and DeUndrey Mcleod, singers Chancellor Montgomery, Chadwick Fountain, and Kayla Hatten.

With only three intense practices under their belt they performed their first gig at a Halloween party on Pearl River Community College campus. (Poplarville, MS) Playing a mixture of pop, r&b, and hip-hop music, XpliZit proved to the PRCC campus that they were a phenomenal yet young band. Caleb Dearman then became the bass guitar player, adding another dimension to an already great combination. Practicing every Monday and doing only a couple of gigs at the Warehouse (Columbia, MS) , and also the PRCC Talent show, it was then when Alkress Barnes became a member of the family. After winning the talent show doors began to open and Dr. Rashad Ali, of Aurora Entertainment, recognized them. Shortly after the talent show, Jeffery Reynolds Jr (bass guitarist) and DeAngelo “Willie” Hobbs (Lead Guitarist) were added to XpliZit. Their first show under Aurora Entertainment was “The Battle on the Bouie River I”, where they were the opening act for Artimus Pyle. Pyle was quoted saying, “You guys are not an ordinary new band, you play off feelings; you guys are real musicians.” James Alexander of the Barkays said, “You guys are great performers. Awesome!”

Xplizit, started working on their demo, and after recording their first song, DeAngelo “Willie” Hobbs was killed in a car accident. R.I.P Willie 1989-2010

After much anguish and searching for a new lead guitarist, they were privileged to meet to Anthony Brown, affectionately known as AJ of Saint Paul, Minnesota; with AJ’s arrival also brought another dimension, to an already awesome sound that Xplizit possess.

The band is now a Dynamic 7 piece Talented, Entertaining band!!!
