Bio

Traditional worker bee by day and singer-songwriter by night, Yaa-Hemaa once harboured secret dreams of becoming an artist. Today, on the heels of a few twists, turns and serendipity, she is fully embracing the opportunity to tell stories, communicate and connect with audiences through song.

Yaa-Hemaa is a Rhodes Scholar, a classically-trained pianist and vocalist, as well as a songwriter. Her debut EP, "Come Hear My Voice" was released in the summer of 2016. Her signature style incorporates jazz, soul, pop, R&B, and classical genres, and she counts greats such as Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Eva Cassidy, Tracy Chapman, and Etta James as personal inspirations.

Yaa-Hemaa sings from the heart and possesses a soothing, clear, and sultry voice. Her songs are motivated by an unfailing belief and faith in beauty, grace and the power of romance.

The secret's out: come discover for yourself the new voice in today's music scene.
