YaBoi Eljay

Lenard Anthony Gant Jr (Born July 17, 1993) better known as the stage name YaBoi Eljay (pronounced Yuh-Boy-LJ) is a hip hop artist from Oakand California.

He played basketball for Lockwood Elementary School in Oakland winning a second place trophy in the Eastlake YMCA Winter Basketball League. Growing up, he was inspired to rap by his cousins that are in a local rap group called "Loced Out" and a Bay Area rap artist name "Habitt".

Spring 2005, After performing at a Talent Show at Havenscourt Middle School, YaBoi Eljay decided to pursue a rap career. He began performing at School Talent Shows, Youth Centers, Venues, and Events around California.

January 15, 2007, YaBoi Eljay Performed at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco along with comedian Mark Curry and D’Wayne Wiggins from Tony Toni Tone. With the Success from his performance at the Bill Graham, YaBoi Eljay appeared on the local news, national TV news and news publications.

March 16, 2010, YaBoi Eljay was featured on a Coast 2 Coast Mixtape titled "DJ Smoke Presents: The Showcase 100". It was released online receiving 22,000 Downloads from 130 Different Countries and counting. The mixtape features Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Fabolous, Redman, and more. October 19, 2010, YaBoi Eljay was featured on another mixtape titled "DJ Young Cee Presents: The Indie Top 50 Vol. 1". It was the first out of the series receiving 92,000 downloads and counting.

December 1, 2010, YaBoi Eljay premiered his holiday single "Night Before Christmas" featuring Mark Curry and Habitt on a college radio station titled KCRH 89.9 FM. The song "Night Before Christmas" CHARTED the week of December 10, 2010 and the week of December 17, 2010 on the Top 50 Pop Chart and the Top 40 Urban Chart for College, Internet, and Satellite Radio. The week of December 24, 2010, "Night Before Christmas" CHARTED on the Online Radio Breakout Chart at #17 with a Total of 378 Spins.

July 31st, 2012, YaBoi Eljay performed on a local music television show titled “Yeah LIVE”. August 1st 2012, YaBoi Eljay released his debut album “From the Hood to Hollywood”. The album features Mark Curry with the chartting single “Night Before Christmas” and more. The album is available on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, and more digital retail stores.

October 4, 2012, YaBoi Eljay started touring high schools across Northern California. The “Lets Reach A Million Tour” visited high schools in cities such as San Jose, Sacramento, Elk Grove, Modesto, Tracy, Fairfield, and San Francisco. The tour was a success resulting with CD's being SOLD OUT throughout Northern California. The tour ended November 16, 2012 at Tennyson High in Hayward California.

February 1, 2013, YaBoi Eljay released his debut Music Video for his single "Get That Money" on YouTube. The video received 100,000 Views within 2 months of being online. Feburary 28, 2013, YaBoi Eljay begun his 2nd school tour "The Inspiration Tour" throughout middle schools of Northern California.

March 23, 2013, YaBoi Eljay performed his next single "Time to Shine" at MMA's "Fight For Stockton Project" in Stockton, California representing MMA Fighter JT Donaldson.

March 26, 2013, "Get That Money" CHARTED on the National Top 200 Radio Chart at #141. Along with songs from Artists such as Usher, Drake, Bruno Mars, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, and more.

May 31, 2013, YaBoi Eljay successfully ended his 2nd school tour. "The Inspiration Tour" visited middle schools in cities such as San Jose, Union City, Vallejo, and Hayward. The tour ended at Hart Middle School in Pleasanton, California. September 13, 2013, YaBoi Eljay teamed up Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes to release his solo mixtape debut "A.W.N.P", which is available for free download at coast2coastmixtapes.com, datpiff.com, and hotnewhiphop.com

November 2013, YaBoi Eljay will be touring both High Schools and Middle Schools on his 3rd school tour. As an inspirational speaker and entertainer, his goal is to inspire and motivate the youth to get a good education and work hard towards their dreams.
