""In the absence of a new Feist album this year....enter Yael Meyer""

"In the absence of a new Feist album this year (or better, a New Buffalo full-length), the dearth of wry, catchy female folk-pop is beginning to grow as cold and crushing as the oncoming winter. Enter Yael Meyer, a Los Angeles singer-songwriter whose sparkling arrangements and lilting voice raise her above the Hotel Cafe crowd to the air staked out by a certain one-named Canadian." - Rawk Blog

""Ms, Meyer perfectly blends, folk, pop, indie and electronic in one smooth delectable treat.""

"Meyer has one of the prettiest voices I have ever heard. All 5 tracks of the EP just makes you feel good with her sweet and innocent voice. But that isn't all that makes this album worth a purchase/listen. Ms, Meyer perfectly blends, folk, pop, indie and electronic in one smooth delectable treat." Boom Boom Chick - Boom Boom Chick

""a female version of Death Cab for Cutie meets Jack Johnson.""

"The simply-elegant and graceful sound of Chilean-born Yael Meyer’s Heartbeat was released today on iTunes. The EP sounds like a female version of Death Cab for Cutie meets Jack Johnson. Its masterful production shows a command of certain melodies and themes that remain constant throughout the duration of the EP. The cordial sound allows Yael to have a little bit of freedom that she attempts to explore with some of her lyrics (Shed Their Fear). The EP was recorded in Los Angeles. It was produced by Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson, Tim Myers, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes) and it includes guest appearances by Danny Levin on trumpet, Fil Krohnengold on acoustic guitar and accordion, and Joseph Karnes on bass." - Loud Dreams

""The EP is deceptively yet beautifully simple.""

"LA singer songwriter Yael Meyer, who was born in Santiago, Chile, sent me a digital copy of her latest EP 'Heartbeat' last week and it blew me away.

The EP is deceptively yet beautifully simple. It's the sound of running barefoot in a dew encrusted meadow in white chiffon. It's the soundtrack to one of those dreams where everything in your life is perfect. It's the sound that creeps from under the door of an innocent hippy chick's boudoir late at night. It'll be the sound you hear when sipping your cappuccino in your local chichi coffee shop in 2010, a decaffeinated Sade if you like.

I hope there's meyer of the same to come from Yael (groan that's bad even for you The Devil's editor)" - The Devil Has The Best Tuna

"tracks like "I Wonder How" will make you think of an Apple ad"

"...tracks like "I Wonder How" will make you think of an Apple ad with its upbeat pop drums and catchy glockenspiel refrains while "Shed Their Fear" is a softened swarm of warm vocals wrapped around a delicately bobbing beat. "Heartbeat" steals the EP with melodious harmonies and perfectly placed electronica in parallel to the picking of the guitar, and one can only hope that there's more of this yet to come.." - Guilt Free Pleasures

""beautifully crafted tracks...""

"...[Yael] composes a completely unique form of music that bleeds childhood nostalgia and the romantic innocence that make life complete. Through an endless library of musical instruments, Yael creates fun, enjoyable, and easily accessible music for the world to enjoy...The album is a faithful reflection of Yael’s talent and creativity put into some beautifully crafted tracks...a balanced, new age of folk, independent pop, and electronic." - My Crazy Music Blog
