It’s quite clichéd now, but I literally started singing in a recording studio in my parent’s basement.  I can remember being exhausted staying up all night, repeating verses and harmonies over and over again.  My cousin was a music producer and a perfectionist, so the vocals had to be perfect.     

As I matured having been in and out of relationships, I felt an urge to explore more of what I and many of my friends were feeling in our discussions about life and relationships.  Issues such as sexuality, the difficulties of dating, being on the alert for down-low dudes, and living life as a woman in a world dominated by men; you know, real life-type shit! 
 
A much more direct, dynamic and explosive part of my personality was dying to be heard!  The lyrics that represent this part of my personality are honest, and direct.
 
I’m putting the finishing touches on my EP entitled “Thriving in a World of Dangerous Men.”  No, it’s not a song title, but the title of the lives of many women on their grind.  Make no mistake about it, as women, if we are to be successful, we must learn not just how to survive, but how to thrive in a world of dangerous men.  Now let’s go get that paper!
