"RADIO 3 SAID"

In music, as in everything, being kind is not a sin. Rather than that, it is almost a “cool” gift in these tense times we live in. The greatest songs have always been a universal palliative purpose against sorrow and anger . Well then, that is partly what Yani Como is about. A shock treatment in a velvet glove. Music, which under its kind feature hides transferable scars and gloomy soul in a classic pop format smartly designed.
The first two tracks from their first LP “Palabras enredadas” (Tangled words), were pure tangled rough psychedelia in the big- bang which calls the shots of “Spiritualized” or the most cosmic Planetas. In fact the album was produced by Carlos Hernández in the Air Shelter in Granada.
His first l.P. (El más grande era gigante 06) came stealthily as well. On tiptoe. Brought out by themselves. Run by Ricky Falkner from Standstill, set the band on the best national indie´s trail: Planetas, La habitación Roja, La Buena vida both in the emotional and sound.
Sharp reflexions about lost moments and pyrrhic revenges. Straight Pop from urgency to the round table (?). A fit of passion –teheremin included- dedicated to Arcade Fire and other references assumed.
13 formas de reparar un corazón –09 is eventually their new disc. Where the external interferences are materialized in their own universe. Melancholic but intensified by positive current.sprinkled the ordinary , familiar places. With adjoining sceneries which allow to follow uneven traces.
From the 80s the North Americans R.E.M, especially Pluton, and Spanish penultimate indie wave.
Now they present “Nada es lo que parece” (“Nothing is what it seems”). I would be talking hours about the album, Javier says, I have written it myself, but for the first time in my life, I gave up speaking from someone else´s lips to open up and give birth to an album we really feel proud of.
We believe that Yani Como has finally reached personality and their own sound and that is the way we aim to go on.
