Retka profesionalnost na nasim prostorima . Bend dolazi iz Vrsca i posle povrsnog pregleda bukleta nisam mogao da naslutim o kakvoj muzickoj prici se radi .
YANKEE je trio ( Ivkovic Radmijo , Kopil Zlatomir , Perovic Dragan ) sastavljen od muzicara koji su ( cak ) stariji i od mene , pa toliko energije u prezentovane 4 numere nisam mogao ni da naslutim !
Rec je o energetski maksimalno nabijenom rocku sa odredenim garage uticajima i melodicnim vokalnim deonicama . Na momente YANKEE me je podsetio na Oslobodioce i Los Hooligans i siguran sam da su odlicni na live svirkama i da tek tu njihovi kvaliteti dolaze do punog izrazaja .
Da rezimiramo : pesme " Man with the Top Hat " i " Do jaja " su - do jaja , " Ana je ruskinja " je solidna , a " Predgrupu" treba zaboraviti . Band YANKEE exsists for a long time, since 80`s, but 10 years pause, because of the war and political troubles in former YU. In the first period of existence, YANKEE played all over ex-YUGOSLAVIA, with intention to publish their album. Unfortunately, they didn`t succesed at that, because of the afore mentioned problems in ex-YU!
YANKEE played in Sarajevo in 1985, as a part of festival, which took place at rock club “CDA”. Band continued with their work at the begining of year 2002. YANKEE did more serious work then recording the songs for their promo CD named “One perfect circle”. New period for them started when they came into studio.
At home, band smashed the stage playing at “40 years of R`n`R-festival”, then comes romania`s “Wine-festival” in Timisoara, and “Belgrade Beer Fest”, at Kalemegdan, Belgrade. Using that occasion-they recorded the video for their hit-song “Man with the Top Hat”, in production of TVK9 television from Kragujevac, and “Active time Records” from Belgrade.
YANKEE is planning to record their debut album-CD for one well known record company in Serbia and Montenegro, for which they have material completed for some period of time. The album-CD will be tittled “Jeremia”, and it will have 14 tracks. Half of them will be on serbian, and half on English language.
During 2003-04, YANKEE had many succesful concerts, to mention just few: “Belgrade at Usce”, as a opening act for major bands such as “Riblja Corba and Zabranjeno pusenje”, then a tour for “3K-TV station”, and many smaller gigs in clubs and festivals such as “Tower Rock fest`04-Vrsac”. Crown of 2004 activities came in Romania at Timisoara, in club “The Note”, wich resulted in contact with MTV-Romania for broadcasting of their video “Play it American way”.
It`s important to mention that band has prepared over 1 hour of hard-rockin` performance with songs played in english, romanian, german and serbian language.
Band YANKEE consists of good, hardworking and persistent individuals, who consider making music great pleasure, so help us if you can to make our carriers flourish and to reach our goal of playing good Quality Rock, to as many people as possible!
