Bio

It is from Africa that YY conveys a story of culture, music, and from there he draws a message of fraternity and revolution.

In 1971 YY decided to discover the world, he hit the road and alone crosses the Sahara in order to rejoin Europe. He arrived in Paris, France where he studied law and obtained his diploma. But after his studies he was confronted with a question : How to bring a little justice and truth in this system. The profession of lawyer and the tools available to them are too limited. So REGGAE appears like the obvious choice to cry out against injustice done to the richest or the poorest. YY made his first band.

In 1980 a first LP was released : RELEASE TIME.
It was welcomed in France, USA and Africa as a new inspiration in Jamaican music. It was n°1 in the charts in Africa and the West Indies. With the big hit 'RASTAMAN WANT' never equaled up today !!!

The second album : 'STOP THAT TRAIN' was recorded in the famous TUFF GONG recording Kingston Jamaica with Bob Marley musicians who supported YY music.
Then a memorable Tour took place in Europe and Africa. People still remember it cause they had never seen the likes of such a thing in the country !!! For all the professionals and for the public this album stand as a strong stone in the building of music and reggae music.

In 1990' it is with lots of maturity, experience and talent that YY came back with his new album : 'SEED'.
SEED is a bridge linking Africa to Jamaica. YY written and composed all the songs in Africa but recorded it in TUFF GONG studio with all the best reggae musicians. Aston Barrett decided to produce this new project. All give their best because they are welcoming their brother Rastaman who has come from Africa. And for the Rasta Dreadlocks of Jamaica it is an important event !!!
This album stay as a reference in reggae music with some tittle like 'FREE AFRICA' 'MAYAVIO' 'MIWOA' rooted in the heart and the head of people all over the world.

Then in 2000's YY decided to came back in Africa to build up his new band.
He works his music with 2 drums, bell,1 bass, 1 guitar, YY as the singer. It is with this New musical project that YY decided to conquer all the stages of reggae music and to put his original music up up up .... ready to cross all the borders ...

YY music touches men to the very depths of their soul.
