Year of the Locust

 Bohemia, New York, USA

New York’s Year of the Locust is doing things the old fashioned way. Rather than relying on false accolades and manufactured hype, the band has taken their furious live show and stellar songwriting to the masses directly. Extensive touring throughout the country has endeared the band to fans and peers alike. Their new single, “Rise Up,” is a call to arms for the countless citizens of the world who are no longer willing to sit idly by and have their lives dictated for them.

Last year the band dropped their E.P., Home, which put the band on tour supporting legendary guitarist Jake E. Lee and his band The Red Dragon Cartel. To this day Lee continues to be an avid supporter of the band. The band channeled that support and inspiration into a brand new full length album, DEVOLVER, available now on iTunesSpotify and Google play. The first single, “Rise Up,” is some of the most innovative & energy driven music the band, comprised of Scot McGiveron (Lead Vox & Guitar), Fred Serrell  (Bass & Vox), Peter Hellers (Vox & Guitar), and Raeshwan Greene (Drums), has produced to date

DEVOLVER, produced by Jimmy Sabella (Metal Allegiance, Marcy Playground, Nine Days) and mastered By Don Zientara (Foo Fighters, John Frusciante, Minor Threat, Fugazi)All artwork and music, images and other materials unless otherwise specified are © 2015 Year Of The Locust. Another You

Written By: Robert McGiveron,Fred Serrell,Glen Wolfe,Peter Hellers

I could search the earth. I'd never find a person I could love and be with for the rest of time, but I found you.

With all my heart and all of my soul with every bit of who I am girl, I know this will last forever together we will grow forever. 'Cause i could never find another you.

I tried to stay away. When I found you you took me to the place where, I was meant to be. And I won't let you go again.

If I could live forever I know that i could never find another you.

Album release: Ride On '07. The song "Everlasting" is in an upcoming feature film called Shred II starring Tom Green and Mark England.
