Bio

Yellow Capello was assembled in December ‘09 by the band’s lead singer and guitarist Gaetano, who had aspirations to form what he called a “professional band,” a band with a clear agenda, marked by thoroughness and business-mindedness. Working as a studio engineer and producer in Saint Petersburg, Florida, Gaetano examined his contacts and put together what he considered to be the best of the best: singer-songwriter Renee Proffitt as 2nd vocalist and on keys, bass master Cameron Korb, and the most solid drummer he’d ever seen in the studio, Ryan Blank. What ensued was a rock band set in a funky direction with punk-rock influences and pop aspirations.
At the band’s inception, Gaetano had just gotten out of a nasty relationship and thus had a collection of songs, with envelope pushing lyrics and carefully crafted melodies, already written and demo’d. So the band jumped right into the studio to record as they arranged and polished the songs, with each member adding their own distinctive flavor. By August ’10 they had finished tracking an 11 song demo album and sent it off to be mixed by engineer and bassist Mark Padgett of the emo-pop band Mae. The album, spawned from experience, developed into a captivating story of hanging onto hope, despite failed relationships.
The next stage for Yellow Capello was to be “fully rehearsed and fully merched” before they would debut. The band’s first rehearsal and first time playing together wasn’t until after the record was finished. And it was then that Renee and Cameron first met their drummer, Ryan, but the chemistry was quickly apparent, musically and personally. Yellow Capello shared a very healthy dynamic, and rehearsals went smoothly, without incident. With each member having years of experience in bands and performing, Yellow Capello swiftly gelled and began to tweak the elements of their performance in order to maximize its entertainment value.
In October ’10 Yellow Capello released their album, received with high regard, and launched their website, packed with professional photography, song samples, video content, and merchandise for purchase. On December 3rd 2010, an event a year in the making, they will debut live with energy and fervor, with custom designed aesthetics, and an equipped merch booth to match.
Yellow Capello looks forward to collaborating and being produced on a future release, and to hitting the road to market and to spread their music and their message to the masses.
