Son of a Working Man Single
Acoustic performance on Absolute Radio
Acoustic performance on Hampshire Radio

Yellowgroove’s early history is freckled with “favours” and chance meetings; A “friend, of a friend who had a friend” kind of thing. A singer stuck in troubadour mode and a lead guitarist with more guitar pedals than you could throw a bassist at was a pretty loose start. A chance opening at Southampton’s Access Festival last year led Yellowgroove into the path of Radio Hampshire and a live unplugged set complete with interview. The airwaves were still floating around their heads whilst they rushed off for a headlining slot at the Guestlingbury music festival, and a last minute gig at Southampton’s famous Joiners.

The winter of 2008 saw the guys huddled into an old industrial mill – come – recording studio for many overnight recording sessions and then the format changed. With a new year came a new line up, an appearance on Absolute Radio, gigs with Bournemouth promoters Solid Air and plenty of shows in Southampton thanks to south coast promoters, Advance Promotions. Yellowgroove went on to catch the student crowd when they were featured by Southampton University’s live music society at their showcase night. Hot on the heals of these gigs they supported Defend Moscow at Hamptons music venue, earning them more slots with other Radio One darlings such as Tim and Sam’s Tim and the Sam Band with Tim and Sam at the Talking Heads. A single on the way, an album in the making and with more appearances set for the summer, including Winchester University and Guestlingbury Festival, be sure to catch Yellowgroove in their element; on stage.
