"Smallness"

I?fve vowed not to make any jests about this band-name that would cause a rift in the multi-cultural advances made in the last several decades. Their music: wonderful. It is a highly interesting, carefully crafted work of smallness, that rare thing in a rock music club. Blips and beeps and off-kilter guitar chirps complimented trembling drum-beats and swells, all held together by the solid bass playing of Mr. Yuta Ishii (also of ?gMetrogeek?h). - Climberpdx

Bio

Yellow Peril's sound, which is simply built by just one guitar sound and expressive vocal, and robotic drums draws from several disparate genres including post rock, techno, ethnic, ambient rock, blues, and classic guitar.
The majority of lyrics deal with morose topics such as people, conversation, war, and childhood experiences.
Musically, the band will often blend cacophonous tone or the sound of toys, commodity and field recording.

Yellow Peril are an experimental Avant-Pop band(JUNK POP), who formed in Tokyo, during winter 2003. The band were originally comprised of Koki Takahashi (Vocals, toys), and Hirosuke Ichino (Guitar, Rythum sampling), on occation joined by Isao Seki and Yuta Ishii. Past members include Anton Tarjin, Yuji Sekiguchi, who are soon joined from its inception until 2006.
Yellow Peril made their first three EPs until the autumn 2006, "Yellow Peril"(2005/8), "Punctum"(2006/3),"3rd EP"(2006/9).
Following the lost of two founding members after recording their 3rd EP, Yellow Peril changes their style with their incorporation of avant-garde, contemporary dance, light acts, and play, being influenced by such as Bjork, Pina Bausch, Merce Cunningham, John Cage etc. These experimental style remind them the origin and naturally it heads them for the simple style. They just made their 4th EP "Night Husk"(2008/6).
Yellow Peril finished its first tour of the United States in June of 2008.
