Bio

Yelpy was born in Dublin, Ireland. On his 15th birthday Yelpy's dad was in a music shop buying his sister a keyboard when he decided completely out of the blue to buy Yelpy his first guitar. Until that moment Yelpy had never given music much thought, but little did either of them know, music would become Yelpy's one true passion in life.

Yelpy played that first guitar morning, noon and night and within a year was forming his first rock band called Awakened. They played quite alot together all through their school years. In fact playing music was the only thing that kept Yelpy sane as school was never really his thing.

When he left school Yelpy started college, but he didn't just go to any old college, no instead he went to the Ballyfermot Rock School in Dublin. Yelpy met loads of great like minded people there and also formed his second band named Whover (pronounced WHO-VER). Whover was a great experience for Yelpy. They played all around Ireland, on radio and on TV. Whover gave Yelpy his first real taste of being a 'rock star' and he loved it. While in Whover Yelpy worked with three of the most talented musicians he has ever know. They taught him a lot.

As Whover was running it's course Yelpy began playing more & more with his two sisters until finally they decided to make it official and form Yellow Room. As Yellow Room they played all around Ireland and on radio. They got to play with some great Irish talent such as John Spillane, Brian Downey, Maria Doyle Kennedy, The Revs and Mickey Joe Heart. Yellow Room also released two albums "Outside" and "Yellow Room". After the second album Yelpy decided to peruse a solo career as a singer/songwriter and move to LA.

Currently Yelpy is preforming in LA in such venues as The Roxy, The Viper Room, The House Of Blues and The Rolling Stone whilst recording his debut solo album "Shine". Being based in LA has also given Yelpy the opportunity to write and produce music for film and TV.
