Yew played traditional and progressive rock. But their heart swayed from Irish, Scottish, and Brittany to a raging resonance of guitars.

Biography

Founded in december 2003, mixing skillfully rock andfolk music, Yew rapidly acquires its reputation as a performer. After some successes at the Forum de Liège, at the Gouvy Jazz Festival, at the “Fêtes de la Musique”, at the Spa Francofolies or even at the Spirit of 66, Yew spreads its love for music and performance with a larger and larger audience.
In 2007, the group releases a first album, “The Circle Is Now Complete”. Two years later, Yew begins to auto-produce “White Swan On Black Water”, which is finally completed after many months of hard work. Everything, till the title, wanted to illustrate the apparently contradictory, but surprisingly aesthetic union of those folk roots drawn from the Irish, Scottish and Breton cultures, and furious rock guitars. With this new album, the group managed to impose its festive rock’n’roll on various famous stages and in many festivals, among which the Spa Francofolies and the Brussels Summer Festival.
