YOKKO

YOKKO! Five musicians who have realized their own vision of the post-indie and new wave sound. Founded in 2010, somewhere in the wilderness, the band sat down for an "Industrial" session in the basement of a parking garage, and their "no-budget" clip was selected from hundreds of finalists, finishing in the TOP 3 of the MTV Clip Contest. This success lead to opportunities to perform in concerts with international greats like The Straits, Mike + the Mechanics, also landed them a US label deal. Furthermore the Rockstar Magazine named YOKKO “The Band to Watch” in 2011.

Now, in collaboration with the electro duo "WE LOVE MACHINE," YOKKO announces their long awaited recording debut. In February 2012, YOKKO released their first single, "Chase" followed by the EP "Y". Soon after, this EP brought the band awards for "most airplayed song" and numerous "band of the month" nominations.

With their new sound they track wild animals, break Nordic icebergs in the deep, and send the listener on an expedition through threatening forests. YOKKO are explorers and inventors; powerful synthesizers, catchy guitars and distinctive vocals accompany the listener on a journey into the unknown, as the driving drum beats and baselines return them back to reality. This is YOKKO.
