Bio

Yomo discovered his artistic talent when he began performing in school shows. Even though his interest in music was always a part of his life, it was not until 1994 when he decided to write his first song. The young man found out that composing was something that came out naturally, and since then a new artist was born.

Yomo began to sing in the underground scene, without much exposure. The reggaeton genre was becoming popular in the metropolitan area, but not in Humacao where he lived. With hardly any connections it was more difficult for him to be known.

In 1998 Yomo decided to take a big change and moved to New York after getting married. While in New York, he wasted no time learning English and began composing music with the influence of the NY urban scene.

Four years later he returned to his native island and slowly cought on with the music scene in PR. While performing at a tribute to Mejicano (Latin Urban Artist), he was spotted by OG Black and Master Joe (local talents) who were very impressed with the young rapper. The duet invited him to perform with them in their shows around Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Orlando, New York, Tampa and Miami in the United States.

Yomo’s energy on stage is what makes him shine and that energy was what came through during the Vaquero Mix Showdown in Bayamon. It was there that Hector El Father was very impressed with his on-stage presence. El Father eventually invited Yomo to sign under his label taking him under his wing and becoming his protégé in Sangre Nueva, Gold Star’s compilation album dedicated to the new reggaeton generation.

“Dejale Caer To’ El Peso” was the first single written by the rising reggaeton and it was more than enough to open the doors of the industry for Yomo. Yomo charted on Billboards Top 40 with his first single, become quickly the new snesation in the Latin Urban scene. Yomo’s potential eventually lead him to perform with artists such as Victor Manuelle and Fat Joe.

After years with Hector, Yomo moved on to Black Pearl International Records, company lead by music entrepreneur Gerardo Mechaly. Yomo's album titled "My Destiny" will be released in November 2008 under Black Pearl. The album will include his latest hits such as "Tu Te las Traes," "Descara" and "Secreto."

Yomo recently finished a holiday song with renowned artist Julio Cesar Sanabria and "cuatro" player Christian Nieves which will be available in the Holiday Edition of the album My Destiny.
