YORK

YORK

BandAlternative

York is an Independent, Ambient/Progressive/Rock band that works together to create multisensory soundscapes that are both beautiful and powerful. The group is frequently compaired to Radiohead, Interpol, Coldplay, Sigur Ros, Muse, Bernard, and Mew.

Biography

YORK began in December 2004 as a purely simplistic, post-punk quartet. Dissatisfied with the sound, the group would spend the next year diligently working to create their own unique blend of genres.

Settling on a quintet consisting of Jason Wells, JD Montgomery, Andrew Wood, Grant Kittrell, and Elon Hiers; the group of friends draws influences from post-rock bands like Sigur Ros as well as indie bands like Deathcab For Cutie to create multisensory songs that are both beautiful and powerful.

While the group focuses on an escape from things of this world, they dedicate themselves to the promotion of good morals, love, and a divine connection that they believe everyone has to one another.
