Biography

Joe Roberts is the quasi-defacto leader and founder of YL. Joe grew up in TX and New York. He learned how to play in church from his mother and father. Joe trained as a painter at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn,NY then joined the US Marine Corps where he was a recon scout from '82-'92.

YL is like Democracy Now! - firing a few random shots of hope and light across the bow of hatred and insecurity. Damned if you do and damned if you don't? - might as well...

Alexis Barclay hails from England and brings a sexy accent and "that funky British sense of humor". Hell of a nice guy Alexis brings influences from across the big pond like Donavan, The Kinks, and Monty Python. He's from Scarborough and his Mother's from London. His father's from Newcastle and his Great Uncle fought in the trenches in the Battle of the Somme in WWI. Alexis writes great songs also
which bring even more depth to the band.

Again - please see our website, www.yossarianlament.com for a good look at our set list. We keep it fresh - for us, and for our public. Yossarian's Lament rotates many songs in and out regularly. We've "found our sound" playing bars and restaurants in and around Kansas City. Live original music played as a band - each individual giving it their all - can't be beat! We play at least 30 songs a show - 3 sets with 15 - 30 minute breaks at our restaurant gigs (many). And we prefer 45 min - 1 1/2 hr sets at clubs. We can play till the cows come home - all the cows.
